SYLVESTER RANCH
The Sylvester farming tradition goes back to the late 1800s as an early Kansas settler, breaking out prairie sod and continues today in Franklin Co. KS. The Sylvester seed business started in 1946 in Riley Co. KS selling wheat, oats, and sorgo seed. When the corporation was formed in the 1960s, the name Sylvester Ranch was used due to involvement in the cattle business. It has stuck through the years even as the focus of the company changed to seed. Midland /Sylvester Ranch has evolved into a full line seed company, serving Kansas and Missouri.
