What is CystX®?
Purdue University developed a patented broad-based resistance to soybean cyst nematodes (SCN) named PUSCN-14. This technology contains four distinct genes. CystX® is the trademark name of the resistance that contains all four genes. Midland has incorporated this new technology into new elite soybean varieties. Midland was the first company to bring these new varieties to growers.

What makes CystX® different?
Current “resistant” varieties can still have significant cyst development on roots. This “traditional resistance” is beginning to break down in some areas. CystX® is simply the best resistance to SCN. SCN do not reproduce on CystX® roots. CystX® has dramatically reduced field egg counts in a four year study by Purdue.

Are there other benefits to CystX® ?
SCN magnifies other plant stresses. Without SCN on roots, plants have a much healthier root system and tolerate all stresses better which allows plants to achieve their full genetic potential.

CystX® is a registered trademark of Access Plant Technologies. CystX® is protected under United States Patent #6,096,944. Production from CystX® varieties may only be used for food, feed, or processing. Law prohibits the use as seed. Midland® CystX® soybean varieties are patent applied for.
